Challenge:
As part of the printed ‘Leserwahl’-campaign of the ‘Auto Motor und Sport’ (AMS) magazine, Porsche asked innovation.rocks to support the presentation of the Taycan in this campaign with an Augmented Reality feature. The idea was to find an innovative way to extend the printed magazined and charge it with digital content to give a whole new reading experience.
Solution:
For this reason innovation.rocks developed a WebAR experience that works by scanning a printed QR-code on the magazine page of the Porsche Taycan. Thanks to the 8thWall technology, the user is redirected to an URL which opens the camera directly within the browser, recognizes the magazine page and places a Porsche Taycan Turbo 3D model on top of it. The user has then the chance to turn the car around, configurate paint and rim colors, switch on and off the lights of the car and even listen to the engine sound. This makes the Porsche AMS feature to a multisensual experience. In addition to this a CTA button refers to the Porsche AR Visualizer, where even more modifications can be extended on different models.
